Police lets a drug peddler go

LAHORE – At a protest, Kahna Nou police arrested Ali Ahmad with 110 grams of Charas, while his companion escaped after throwing 1.5 kg of Charas. Ahmad pointed out that his name was Muhammad Rafique and he was a resident of Ameen Park, Band Road. Police produced Rafique before the magistrate and sought his physical remand of five days to recover Charas from him.
The court refused to grant the remand as the police had already recovered the Charas. Later, Rafique was declared innocent during the investigation on the basis of his physique; police considered him a duplicate of the actual culprit who was slim while Rafique was a little chubby. Rafique was bailed on the basis of police record and is enjoying a peaceful life.
Gas stove explodes, a women dead: A 55-year-old woman died after a gas stove exploded in Southern Cantonment police precincts on Saturday. The deceased, Salma, was a resident of the Arain Khurd, Raiwind Road. Salma was cooking in the kitchen when the gas stove exploded because of gas leakage.
She was burnt and rushed to the hospital where she died. Police interrogated the deceased’s husband and father-in-law, who later organized the deceased’s funeral.
INFANT FOUND DEAD: The body of a newly born baby was found in Ghari Shahu police precincts on Saturday. The body was disposed off in a shopping bag near Ghari Shahu Police Station. Police called Edhi officials who later buried the body. Edhi officials revealed that the body was freshly disposed off.
