The news report that the Pakistan Army will enjoy two-day weekend is mind boggling. It is astounding that the pillar which requires and acquires more than 50% of total budget of the state will enjoy a long weekend whereas the departments and organisations which have no such power to implement the decisions for the welfare of their employees are bound to go through their rigorous routines. Last year the government announced two days weekend but then again chose to go back on its decision.
