Jobless hafiz-e-Quran commits suicide by jumping before train

GUJRANWALA – A 26-year-old hafiz-e-Quran, Hafiz Tayyab committed suicide by jumping before a Lahore-bound Malikwal Express train the other day. He was a son of a prayer leader and was jobless these days. Before committing suicide, Hafiz Tayyab phoned one of his friends and requested him to inform his parents of his suicide.
TWO COPS DISMISSED, ANOTHER SENT ON FORCED RETIREMENT: Gujranwala RPO Tariq Masood Yasin has dismissed former Garjakh SHO Inspector Mian Abdul Jabbar and Sub Inspector Adnan Akram of Saddar Police Station, besides ordering compulsory retirement of Inspector Muhammad Qasim of PS Saddar for dereliction of duty.
The RPO, in a statement, has warned of strict disciplinary action over negligence and misuse of powers.
The dismissed inspector, Mian Abdul Jabbar, released the alleged rapist and killer of a minor girl in Garjakh locality. The accused is still at large and the police investigators revealed he had fled to Afghanistan.
