Girl shot dead over rejection of marriage proposal

KASUR – A young girl was killed over a marriage dispute at Kandonagar in the jurisdiction of Chunian Police Station. Reportedly, Waryam and Shaukat came to the house of Tufail and proposed his daughter for marriage to one of their relatives. On his refusal, they killed his daughter Manzooran.
TWO KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT: Two people were killed in a road accident in the jurisdiction of Sarai Mughal Police Station. Reportedly, three people were going to their village on their motorcycle when a van hit them. As a result, Sakhawat and Sajjad died instantly while Falaksher received serious injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital.
MAN DIES, WIFE INJURED IN ROAD ACCIDENT: A man was killed and his wife received serious injuries when a car hit their motorcycle on Multan Road near Tiger CNG Station in the jurisdiction of the Phoolnagar police. Reportedly, Hassan and his wife were going home on a motorcycle. When they reached near the bypass, a car hit them, killing Hassan on the spot and injuring his wife seriously. The injured was shifted to a hospital.
Man injured over interest dispute: A person was injured over a dispute of interest on gold ornaments at Gora Market in the jurisdiction of A-Division Police Station.
Reportedly, Ajmal Shad who was doing the interest business did not return gold ornaments to some people. On the day of the incident, three of the affected people demanded their gold ornaments back. On his refusal, they resorted to firing, injuring Ali Haider, a labourer of his shop, and took away 30 tolas of gold.
DCO, DPO hold meeting with clerics: Districts Coordinator Officer Malik Jahanzeb Awan and District Police Officer Gohar Naffees held a meeting with clerics and the peace committee’s members for maintaining law and order during the Chehlam of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The DCO appreciated the efforts of ulema and the police for keeping peace during Muharram. The DPO told the meeting that a sense of brotherhood should be promoted. He said the authorities concerned must be informed prior to any congregation. The ulema and the members of the peace committee assured him of their cooperation in maintaining law and order in the district.
