KARACHI – An anti terrorism court (ATC) on Friday handed down death sentences to four men charged with kidnapping a minor boy for ransom.
ATC-III Judge Anand Ram Hotwani – on the last day of his contractual service – after hearing both sides, convicted Irshad Ahmed, Moar Buriro, Arz Muhammad alias Jalal Gorchani and Muhammad Hasan for abducting Arsh Nabi, 3, from Defence Housing Authority in January 2010 and sentenced them to death.
The court also ordered to confiscate the movable and immoveable properties of the accused.
It is worth to mention that the two-and-half-year tenure of the presiding officer would expire today (Saturday).
