LAHORE – Pakistan will appear in the AFC U13 Festival of Football, following an impressive display at the AFC Festival during the last four years.
“We are on way to show the same kind of performance, from May 10 to 23. We have picked talented school-level players from Academies, AFC AID-27 coaches and February’s 13th National U13 Festival of Football, who will represent Pakistan in the upcoming AFC U13 Festival of Football,” said PFF President Faisal Saleh Hayat.
He further said that the selection committee and three-member Technical Study Group (TSG) will go all out to pick players on merit.
The Pakistan U13 team will take on hosts Iran, as well as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Maldives, and Afghanistan in the South Asian Zone of the nine-nation Festival being held at Iran’s Yazd City.
Faisal stressed that AFC’s Vision Asia team is confident the 2011 Festival of Football will be bigger and better than ever as the continent continues its drive to lift the standard of football.
“Preparations are well under way for the event. There is a lot of enthusiasm, the event’s popularity has grown and we expect to have more participants than ever before,” said Faisal.
