ISLAMABAD – The name of Nabeel Gabol, who announced his resignation from the ministerial slot on Wednesday, has been put on the Exit Control List (ECL) on the directives of a top government functionary, a source within the Interior Ministry said.
Gabol tendered his resignation the other day over his self-proclaimed inability to address the problem of people from his constituency, Lyari, because of the federal government’s lethargy.
Following his resignation, a police commando raid was also reportedly conducted at his residence and some of his guards were said to be taken in custody for a while, however police denied any raid at the residence of the former state minister. Gabol also told the media that his name had been put on ECL to prevent him from going abroad.
