Punjab governor wants to bury the hatchet

LAHORE – The Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has stressed on burying the ‘past politics of vendetta and hatred’, as all political parties have equal stakes in the country.
He said that the Governor’s House is not anybody’s personal inheritance and being a public property, is open to all and sundry.
He was talking to the media after visiting the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal, where he also laid a wreath of flowers, offered Fetha, and penned his views.
The governor said all political forces are united on one point agenda of strengthening the democratic system and hoped for a new era of friendly ties with PML-N.
He said all politicians should be working for redressing the problems faced by the public.
He recalled the reconciliatory spirit which led slain PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif to sign the Charter of Democracy. “And the government is committed to implement the charter in letter and spirit”, he added
He said Nawaz Sharif was like his brother. He said the CoD spared no room for the politics of victimisation and confrontation.
He said the term ‘jiala’ is attributed to something negative when it should be connoting the spirit for loyalty.
