PAKPATTAN – The residents of Pakpattan are facing hardship owing to 18-hour power and gas load shedding in the city and its adjoining areas.
The power and gas supply remains suspended for several hours without any prior notice from the authorities which has paralysed business activities in the city. Women are unable to cook food for their families in the houses because of gas supply suspension. The people have demanded the authorities take immediate notice of the situation and solve their problem.
TRADERS OBSERVE STRIKE: The Anjuman-e-Arhtian Grain Market members observed a complete strike against imposition of 3.5 per cent withholding tax on the purchase of commodities.
The also took out a rally from the grain market in favour of their demands while the market remained completely closed. The commission agents alleged the government had failed to implement the RGST and now it had imposed withholding tax without the consent of the traders.
Meanwhile, Arifwala Grain Market traders also observed a complete strike against the imposition of the tax.
