ISLAMABAD – Talks between the government’s economic team and allied parties as well as the opposition on reforms and resolution of problems in the economic system is a good omen and positive proposals from all political parties would be implemented, President Asif Zardari said on Wednesday.
Presiding over a high-level meeting on the country’s economic situation with the members of the government’s economic team, the president said the democratic government wanted to make the economy robust.
The country’s economic situation will also be improved with consensus, the way democracy is being strengthened through political reconciliation, he said, according to Online sources.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani called on President Zardari at the Aiwan-e-Sadr and briefed him about the support pledged by the political parties on the government’s initiative of seeking proposals to counter economic crunch situation in the country.
