LAHORE – Yousaf Naseem Khokhar, Civil Officer of Grade 20 from District Management Group (DMG), has assumed charge as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA). According to a press release issued here from SMEDA, he was serving as Principal Staff Officer to the Prime Minister of Pakistan before his appointment in SMEDA.
He possesses rich and varied experience accumulated over twenty four years serving in the civil service. He has served in the provinces of Punjab and Sindh before joining the Federal Government.
In the case of Punjab, he has served in the positions of secretary, additional secretary and deputy secretary in various departments as well in the capacity of principal secretary and special secretary to the Punjab chief minister. Whereas, in Sindh, he served as deputy secretary, labour department and deputy secretary (development), finance department.
With regards to field assignments, he has served as Assistant Commissioner in Sukkur and as Deputy Commissioner in Sargodha and Khoshab. Khokhar holds a Master’s Degree in Social Policy and Planning in Developing Countries from the London School of Economics, UK as well as a Master’s Degree in Political Science from University of the Punjab. Besides, he has traveled extensively both in connection with foreign training at senior management level as well as in private capacity.
