LAHORE – A drawn game between Winder and Kalri allowed Singolane to sneak into the last eight as two more league matches were decided in the PFF-KESC Lyari Football League at Kalakot’s Shaheed Abdul Rehman Park ground in Karachi.
Daryabad earned 2-1 win over Uthal in Group- C to enter the last eight.
The quarter-finalists so far are Daryabad, Hub, Nawalane, Singolane, Lyari Town, Baghdadi and Kalakot. The quarter finals will be played from January 20 to 21.
Winder and Kalri were locked 1-1 in Group-B with both goals coming in second session within three minute blitz. After 0-0 first half, striker Muhammad Junaid surged Kalri ahead in the 53rd minute but their joy was short lived as Winder’s midfielder Muhammad Yasin slammed leveller in the 56th minute. The drawn game allowed Singalone to stroll into last eight along with Group-B leader Baghdadi. The Man of the Match was Kalri’s Muhammad Amir who received the award from former PIA international Ashiq Ali.
Later on, Daryabad made short work of Uthal 2-1. Daryabad stunned the team from Balochistan with two goals within eight minute in the second session. Striker Adnan Ali gave them 37th minute lead, followed by midfielder Amir Bakhsh goal. The self goal allowed Uthal a goal when winner’s defender Mujahid Hussain turned the ball past his own keeper. The Man of the Match was Amir Bakhsh who received his prize from former HBL skipper Abdul Latif.
The matches were supervised by Abdul Aziz, Abdul Karim, Ansar Javed, Farid Ahmed, Ansar Javed, Shahid Ismail, Jalal Ahmed under Match Commissioner Yaqoob Baloch.
Tuesday (18 Jan) Fixture: Nayabad v Nawalane (2.30 PM), Baghdadi v Singolane (4 PM). Both matches at Abdul Rehman Park.
