LAHORE – The Government College University Fine Arts Department on Tuesday held a painting exhibition of a group of young painters; Marina Aftab, Kiran Riaz, Nazish Altaf and Maria Ahsan. The work of Marina Aftab on Sufism remained the centre of attraction at the exhibition. Talking about her work, Marina said Sufism has always been a mystery for her.
“I always found myself deeply involved when it comes to mystical dimension of Islam. To understand and illustrate Peer-e-Kamil Prophet (PBUH) is my step towards it,” she added. Each illustration reflects a special mood which is a blend of writing and thoughts. Talking about her texture work, Kiran Riaz said that nature always created sensations in her and she tries to recreate that sensation into textures.
