LAHORE – Pakistan Today, ARY News, Express and Nawa-i-Waqt won their matches in the Khayaban-e-Amin Media Cup Cricket Tournament here on Sunday.
Pakistan Today maintained their winning spree by outplaying daily Pakistan by eight wickets in the third match of the day her at the Khayaban-e-Amin cricket ground. Although the day was sunny but the later half of the evening saw cold breeze making it difficult for the players to warm up to the conditions but still then the event continued.
Winning the toss, daily Pakistan crawled to just 19 runs, which was the record lowest of the tournament. Pakistan Today bowlers Talat, Ibrahim, Ilyas, Pervaiz and Moneeb had restricted their opponents to just 15 runs and on an eventful last ball of the innings, four runs off overthrow were scored.
However, Pakistan Today overhauled the target in the third over. The previous lowest of the tournament was 26 by Khabrain and that was also against Pakistan Today which the latter had won by nine wickets. ARY News which scored 83 runs, the highest score of the tournament, defeated Jinnah. Express defeated Duniya and Nawai-Waqt beat News One. The next round of the matches will be played today and most probably the final will also be played on Monday.
