SAARC baseball officials elected

LAHORE – Shaukat Javed and Khawar Shah were elected as president and secretary general of the SAARC Baseball Federation on Saturday.
Their election came in a meeting of the representatives of South Asia Baseball playing countries on Saturday at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore.
The representatives of Afghanistan Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and Pakistan attended the election meeting of the South Asia Baseball Federation.
The newly-elected officials promised to hold the Saarc Baseball competition in Pakistan and will also hold a series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Mrs Zobia Rabab Malik was elected as chairperson of SAARC Women Baseball Committee. The tentative date of 1st SAARC Baseball Cup April 7 to 12 2011. Pakistan will act as host for the 1st SAARC Baseball Cup which will be held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
The elected officials:
President Shaukat Javed (Pakistan), Secretary General Khawar Shah (Pakistan), Vice Presidents Eric Perera (Sri Lanka) and PC Bhardwala (Indian) and members Hamid Ullah (Afghanistan) and Inamul Islamal (Bangladesh).
