Reward for KP Police, 50% raise in salaries

PESHAWAR – Acknowledging the Police department’s services in the war against militancy, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Saturday announced 50 percent raise in provincial police officials’ salaries. Addressing a ceremony held in Peshawar Police Line, Hoti commended police for its frontline role in fighting militancy and rendering unprecedented sacrifices in protecting the citizens. He announced 50 percent increase in the basic pay of the provincial police as a reward for their hard job in a part of the country where many policemen lost their lives but foiled many terrorist attempts as well, however he did not give any details about the implementation of the increment. He said that several terrorist attacks were prevented in the recent months due to the security measures adopted by the government, adding that the nation stood up against the militants and fully cooperating with police and security forces to eliminate terrorism.
