LAHORE – As many as eight matches in the first round of the Khayaban-e-Amin Media Cup Cricket Tournament were played on Saturday. The event resumed after a day of protest against the killing of journalist Baber Wali Khan in Karachi, who was shot dead on Thursday. On Saturday, Value TV, Jinnah, News Five, Dawn, Ausaf and Aaj registered wins.
Value TV first got walk over against Jang in the previous days match and later in the day beat APP by seven wickets. They achieved the score of 61 for the loss of three wickets.
Jinnah got 35 runs win against Express News. After making 69 for two they allowed just Express News just 34 runs. BIlal scxored 35 for winners. News Five earned 40-run win against Awaz. Farrukh Nawaz scored 54 runs in total of 77 of New Five and Awaz got 37.
Dawn routed Aaj Kal by 10 wickets. The losing side made 35 that was achieved by Dawn in 1.4 overs. Ausaf defeated Apna by 17 runs. After making 56, Ausaf restricted Apna to 39.
Aaj scored 62 runs and allowed 32 to The News to win by 30 runs Adil scored 37 runs for winners.
