LAHORE – Mohammed Sajid of Sahiwal turned out to be the fastest athlete at the divisional high school level when he won gold medal in the 100m race of the Chief Minister’s Sports Competitions, which are in full swing at different venues of the city.
Football, volleyball and athletics were held at various venues on second day. Players from different divisions are participating in the competitions.
The boys final athletics events were held at the Punjab Stadium. Sajid got the gold in 100m and 400m races. Tanveer Abbas from Sargodha won the 200m race whereas Zainullah from Sargodha was the winner in the shot putt competition.
Mohammed Imran was declared winner in long jump and Sargodha athletes were the winners in 4×100 relay race.
The boys volleyball was held at Government Model High School. Five matches were played. In the first match, Faisalabad beat Gujranwala 2-0. Lahore beat Sargodha 2-0 score whereas Sahiwal overpowered Multan 2-0. Bahawalpur defeated DG Khan 2-0. In the girls volleyball, Gujranwala won against Sahiwal 2-0 whereas Bahawalpur beat Sargodha 2-1. Rawalpindi won against Faisalabad 2-0 and Multan won over Lahore 2-0.
In the boys football, Sahiwal beat DG Khan 1-0. Faisalabad won against Rawalpindi by 4 goals to nil .Lahore got victory over Multan 6-0 whereas Bahawalpur won against Gujranwala 3-0.
