Mysterious death – Boy was stowing away in a plane?

LAHORE – Investigators are clueless about the identification of a young boy who is believed to have died after falling from a plane on the rooftop of a house in Al-Faisal Town in the North Cantonment Police precincts. Police said they sent his fingerprints to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for verification, but NADRA officials denied getting any specimen. The body of an unidentified 19-year-old body was found on the rooftop of a single-story house in Faisal Town’s A block. Haji Afzal, the owner of the house, told Pakistan Today that he heard the rumble of a plane followed by a loud thud on the rooftop of his house. He said that as he climbed stairs he saw the boy’s body lying on the rooftop. Police, however, are investigating the authenticity of Afzal’s claim. North Cantonment SHO Rana Arham said initial investigations have confirmed that the boy fell off a plane and that police have contacted the Civil Aviation Authority for help. He said the boy was wearing the same uniform as a cargo boy and his hands were blackened with grease and oil. North Cantonment Police have yet to register an FIR. Police suspected that the boy was a contractual employee at the airport who tried to flee to Dubai by hiding in the wheels of a plane. The boy is said to have fallen from a height of about 700 to 100 feet. The boy’s both arms and legs have fractured and his skull broken. Doctors have yet to conduct an autopsy. Airport sources said three flights had taken off from the airport at the time when the boy’s body was found. They said a Shaheen Airline’s Dubai-bound passenger plane took off at 9:07pm, AirBlue’s plane at about 9:18pm while a third one – Pakistan International Airline’s plane left for Islamabad at about 9:40pm. Sources said none of the crew members of the three airlines is reported missing. Aviation authorities have ordered the Airport Security Force to provide the video recording of cameras fitted on the runway.
