Karachi – Lyari Town overpowered Bihar Colony 4-0 in the Group D clash of the PFF-KESC Lyari Football League 2011 at Shaheed Abdul Rehman Park. After completion of three matches in Group D, Lyari Town have accumulated six points, Bihar Colony have three while Khada and Bela are yet to open their account.
Lyari Town surprisingly faced no resistance from Bihar Colony, the 14-1 winners over Khada four days ago. Lyari’s skipper Muneer Aftab opened the scoring in the 10th minute, utilizing a penalty kick. Winger Zohaib Nisar made it 2-0 in the 21st minute. Lyari added two more in the second session through midfielder Muhammad Tanveer (56th minute) and full back Najeeb Ahmed (90+3 minutes. Former Pakistan skipper Ghulam Sarwar awarded the PFF Shield to man of the match Najeeb Ahmed.
Earlier, in a Group C tie, Kalakot struck a precious second half goal to beat Balochistan’s Uthal 1-0. Spearhead Muhammad Nauman struck the lone goal in the 59th minute. It was the second straight win for Kalakot. Uthal played brilliantly in the first session, with their keeper Naveed Ahmed, also man of the match, putting up a fine display under the bar. Kalakot have secured six points in Group C, followed by Uthal and Agra Taj with one point each. Daryabad are still pointless.
