LAHORE – Punjab Governor Latif Khosa has said he would meet PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif after his visit to Nodero and would take all further steps with the consent of all democratic parties.
“We will make the entire country, especially Punjab peaceful with the help from the Punjab government,” Khosa told reporters after meeting Interior Minister Rehman Malik.
Malik had come to congratulate Punjab Governor Latif Khosa on his appointment as the governor of this province.
Malik said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was a competent person and was working very hard. “We would take the Punjab government and the cabinet along in all matters pertaining to the consolidation of the country.”
He said Khosa would be successful in creating a congenial atmosphere in Punjab. He also expressed hope that after the governor’s appointment, the relationship between the Punjab government and the governor would lead to prosperity.
To a question regarding the murder of former Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer, Malik said the inquiry was complete, “we did not have objection on judicial inquiry if people demanded then we could process it”.
Malik said, “Our enemy knew that they could not defeat us because of the strength of our army… that’s why to destabilise our country they are creating an environment of sectarianism.”
