ISLAMABAD – Chief Election Commissioner Justice (r) Hamid Ali Mirza on Friday promoted all scale-16 and above officers of the commission.
The Election Commission of Pakistan spokesman said on Friday that the decision was taken in the public interest and for smooth functioning of the organization. Finance Division’s Office Memorandum, dated the July 25, 2000, authorised the chief election commission for such decisions, the spokesman said.
Election Commission of Pakistan Secretary Ishtiak Ahmed Khan said that the ECP was transforming itself into a new dynamic entity capable of fulfilling its constitutional obligations in an efficient manner and for achieving this it needed restructuring of its services rules, recruitment criteria and promotion policy.
