LSE on shaky ground, gains nominally

LAHORE – Lahore Stock Exchange remained on shaky ground on the last working day of the week. The LSE 25-index gained 5.92 points at the end of trading session on Friday. However, major change was witnessed in total turnover as the share volume increased from 7.56 million shares to 11.10 million shares, registering an increase of 3.58 million shares.
Investors showed their confidence in banking, oil and gas and fertiliser sectors. Total 125 symbols remained active out of which 53 gained value, 15 shed weight and 57 remained even. Millat Tractors led the market as it gained Rs 12.90 per share. The symbol was opened at Rs 541.10 and closed at Rs 554 at the end of trading session. Other gainers included Engro Corporation, Paksitan State Oil, Dawood Hercules Chemicals and Fauji Fertiliser Company.
