2 cops among 5 killed in Bannu, Mohmand attacks

PESHAWAR – At least five people, including two policemen, were killed and several others injured in terrorist acts in Bannu and Mohmand Agency on Thursday.
The terrorists targeted a police mobile van with an improvised explosive devise in the Janikhel area of Bannu. The IED planted on roadside on main route, connecting North Waziristan to Bannu city exploded with a big bang. Two policemen were killed and five others injured.
In around 12 hours, it became the second terrorist act at Bannu-Miran Shah Road. On Wednesday evening a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a police station, killing 20 people and injuring 17 others. Taliban militants operating in the area claimed responsibility for both the acts.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour and Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain along with Inspector
General of Police Fayaz Khan Toru visited Bannu and witnessed the ruined police station. They also visited the hospital and inquired after the injured.
In another development, three people were killed and another was injured when some explosive went off with a big bang at Ghalanai headquarters of Mohmand Agency on Thursday morning. The explosive went off in the scrap goodown of Aman Ullah who was killed along with two labourers
in the explosion occurred near
Ghalanai Press Club.
