QUETTA – Balochistan lawyers’ community strongly condemned the brutal killing of Supreme Court senior Judge Justice Javed Iqbal’s parents in Lahore and announced a boycott of courts across the province today (Thursday) against the tragic killing besides demanding the government conduct a transparent probe into the incident. Pakistan Bar Council Member Amanullah Kanrani Advocate said this while addressing a joint press conference on Wednesday. He termed the killing of Justice Javed Iqbal’s aged parents a barbaric act and demanded the formation of a high level inquiry into the murders to unearth the real motive behind the double murder.
Previously Zain Khalil Advocate was abducted in Peshawar for ransom and was killed when the ransom amount was not paid, he said adding that Balochistan Bar Council, Balochistan High Court Bar Association and Balochistan Bar Association jointly decided to observe a boycott of courts’ proceedings for one day as a protest against the sad incident. He said that a high level committee should be constituted which should carry out a transparent investigation into the killings of Justice Javed Iqbal’s parents.
