LAHORE – The Tehreek-e-Namoos-e-Risalat (TNR) would observe Friday, January 14, as a black day against Pope Benedict’s statement for repeal of blasphemy laws. Maulana Amjad Khan, Amirul Azeem, Malik Bashir, Ramzan Manzoor and Maulana Azizur Rehman said that by asking the federal government to repeal blasphemy laws, the Pope had actually interfered in our religious and internal affairs.
“It is very much clear now that who is steering the people who are trying to change the blasphemy law. Instead of opposing, the Pope should not only favour the Namoos-e Risalat law but also play his role to pass such type of laws and death punishment for desecration of all prophets from the UN,” the TNR leaders said. Earlier, meeting of the central, provincial and district office bearers of TNR took place at office of Aalmi Majlis-e-Tahafaz-e-Khatam-e-Nabuwat, which was presided over by Maulana Mohibun Nabi.
