Rokhri not happy with badminton trials in Islamabad

LAHORE – The Aamer Hayat Khan Rokhri-led faction of the Pakistan Badminton Federation has termed the trials being held at Islamabad on January 13 as illegal.
An official of the federation sad that the trials for Fajr International Tournament called by the other faction through its secretary Imtiaz Gill on January 13 2011 at Islamabad were illegal.
Rokhri said that the so-called federation of Gill is planning to hold trials at Islamabad for participation in Fajr Tournament to be held in Tehran from February 15 to 18 in violation of Pakistan Olympics Association’s directive preventing Gill’s federation from taking part in any badminton activity till the finalisation of the POA arbitration committee proceedings.
He also asked all the affiliated units of the PBF not to participate in the trials and any player taking part in it would face disciplinary action.
Rokhri further said that the entries of players selected in these trials will not be accepted without the recognition of POA. He said that his federation holds trials after the POA’s proper approval.
