LAHORE – The Punjab University Inter-collegiate Badminton Championship rolled into action here at the PU Gymnasium Hall on Tuesday.
The newly-constructed four courts are equipped with all the basic facilities of the game complete game’s equipment and state of the art fitness centre while timings for training and practice has also been ear-marked.
Dr Zafar Rasheed, PU Director Sports, formally inaugurated the championship. Dr Rasheed, who is a former international table tennis player, is son of former GCU principal Mohammad Rasheed.
On the opening day, Oriental College beat Govt College for Commerce 2-0, Hailey College Banking and Finance beat College of State 2-0, Staff College Burki beat Shalimar College Baghbanpura 2-1. the final will be played in January 14.
