LAHORE – Punjab Health Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad has directed the officers of the Health Department to take effective measures to make the routine immunization and anti-polio campaign a success and achieving hundred percent results.
He directed to post sanitary inspectors, vaccinators and sanitary patrols in out reach areas and after that ban be imposed on transfer/posting of these officials.
In the light of these directions, Health Punjab Director General Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry has issued written instructions to all the Health EDOs in the province, accordingly. According to the orders issued by the Health Department, no vaccinator shall be placed on general duty and only one vaccinator shall be deployed in urban union councils having compact population. If vaccinators are available in the district in excess of the number of union councils, additional vaccinators would be deployed in the rural union councils having large population and widely spread geographical areas.
DG said that vaccination at the static centers in health establishments shall be performed by Lady Health Visitors and Midwives.
He further said that as per instructions of the Health secretary, preventive health teams comprising of vaccinators, CDC supervisors and sanitary inspectors have also been constituted at union council level. Dr Aslam further informed that the concerned EDO Health, DOH and other officers of the Health Department at district level would be responsible for monitoring the performance of these officials and they would send a report to the health authorities regularly in this regard.
