9 suspects of Shershah killings surrender

KARACHI – Nine suspects wanted for their alleged involvement in the Shershah killings mysteriously surrendered at the office of the Sindh home minister on Wednesday.
The alleged accused identified as Akbar, Abdul Lateef, Tufail, Abid, Tahseen, Iqbal, Ijaz, Asghar and Jauhar arrived at the home minister’s office and said that they wanted to surrender in front of him. The minister called the Liaquatabad SP and handed over the suspects to him.
Last month, the police had arrested four suspects Lal Muhammad Magsi, Shafiq Magsi, Pervaiz and Nawaz, who were among 17 people nominated in the FIR of the incident.
Fourteen people were killed when about 10 armed men went on a killing spree in the Shershah scrap market on October 19.
The Pak Colony police had registered FIR 578/2010 under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempted murder), 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt) and 34 (common intention) of Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 on complaint of a survivor, Muhammad Nafees.
An owner of a shop in the market had nominated Noor Mohammad alias Baba Ladla and 16 other associates of slain Rehman Dakait in the FIR.
