Police training-3

It is a common complaint among the masses about the slow pace of investigation by the police. The public also criticises the complicated procedures adopted during the investigation. It is to be understood that legal procedures do take their time and the police has to work on a case from every aspect. Although there is a need to speed up the process to provide immediate relief to the aggrieved party, but the proper investigation procedures ensure the right outcome of the case. It is the duty of all law abiding citizens to fully cooperate with the police during an investigation so as to ensure a quick resolution to the case.

It is also estimated that there are less than five percent women representation in the police force. This is quite a worrisome figure as the women in our country outnumber men in population. The presence of women in the police institution will not only facilitate the police themselves but will also facilitate the public.

Women will feel more comfortable in approaching women police and registering their grievances with them. The extra pressure on police during investigations involving women will also be curtailed to some extent in the presence of women investigators.
