LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif on Monday denied he had given any ultimatum to the PPP-led government, as he announced a four-member committee that will engage with the government in pursuit of the implementation of his 10-point agenda.
Addressing a press conference at his residence in Raiwind, Nawaz said PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar would head the committee comprising Pervaiz Rashid, Sardar Mehtab Abbasi and Abdul Qadir Baloch. He said the committee would present the 10-point agenda to the government within a day or two and would extend its cooperation for the agenda’s practical execution. Nawaz made it clear that the PML-N had not given 45 days to the government to realise the agenda. Nawaz reciprocated PPP’s positive gesture, adopting a reconciliatory tone, saying his efforts were aimed at saving the nascent democratic system. He reiterated his resolve that the PML-N would never be part of a ‘puppet show’ and it did not believe in horse trading and blackmailing.
