Lal condemns kidnapping of Hindus

QUETTA – Kidnapping of Hindus for ransom is creating a sense of insecurity, Balochistan Minister for Minorities and Human Rights Engineer Basant Lal Gulshun said while talking to reporters on Monday.
Basant Lal, a member of Balochistan assembly of Hindu community, said his community was concerned and very disturbed by the kidnapping of a prominent Hindu religious leader Mahraj Ko Sahain Lakhmi Garji from Kalat along with one of his relatives and the government needed to take concrete steps to recover the abductees.
He told that a delegation comprising Hindu and Muslim representations had called on the Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani two days back regarding the growing incidents of kidnapping of Hindu community members and the CM had directed the police officials to take action immediately. However, three days had passed but no recoveries had been made so far, he said, adding that another Hindu trader, Daleep Kumar had also been kidnapped in these three days.
He said that these incidents brought a bad name to the tribal society of Balochistan and urged upon political, democratic, nationalist and tribal forces to play their due role for the safe release of Hindus.
