KARACHI – Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani called MQM chief Altaf Hussain on the phone and discussed the prevailing political situation in the country with him and the government’s efforts to promote political reconciliation.
The prime minister welcomed the decision made by the MQM to return to the treasury benches and thanked him and the party’s Rabita Committee.
He assured Altaf Hussain that all the reservations of the MQM would be removed and the aprty would be consulted and taken into confidence on all issues.
Hussain welcomed the understanding reached between the government and PML-N and congratulated him. He assured the prime minister that the MQM would continue cooperating with the government to strengthen democracy and for the welfare of the people.
