Man’s body found in Choong Police Station precincts

LAHORE – An unidentified 40-year-old man’s decomposed body was found from the Choong Police Station precincts on Sunday. It is suspected that unidentified kidnappers abducted the man and escaped after throwing his body in the Choong Police Station precincts.
According to police, Choong local residents spotted the deceased’s body lying along the Kinar Bund Road and informed police, which reached the spot and shifted the body to the morgue with the Edhi Foundation’s help. According to Choong Police officials, investigation has started to identify the deceased but it looks like that unidentified kidnappers abducted and killed the victim.
They said that killers escaped after throwing the body at the aforementioned place. Police said that announcements were made in Choong area to find the victim’s relatives but the body could not be identified. They said that all city police stations have been informed to search for the victim’s relatives. Police said that the autopsy report could tell the victim’s cause of death.
Separately, an unidentified man died under mysterious circumstances in the Nolakha Police Station precincts. Local residents spotted an unidentified man lying along the road near the Borhwala Chowk and informed the Edhi Foundation officials who reached the spot and rushed the man to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police removed the body to the morgue and started searching for his relatives.
Also on Sunday, around 11 people fell unconscious after eating poisonous food in the Hanjerwal Police Station precincts. Police said that labourers including Afzal, Shahid, Munir, Anwar, Akhtar, Tahir, Razzaq, Waseem, Nazakat, Shahbaz and Hanif ate rotten food from a local food stall located in Hanjerwal Police Station precincts and fell unconscious on which local residents informed rescue and Edhi officials, who after reaching the spot rushed them to the Jinnah Hospital where their condition was reported to be stable.
According to police, all of them were residents of a nearby village located in the Hanjerwal area. Three people, including a woman, were killed in three road accidents in different areas of the provincial capital on Sunday. A speeding vehicle crushed a 40-year-old woman in the Johar Town Police Station precincts.
The victim was identified as Shazia Bibi, a resident of the Samsani Village. Police said that the deceased was trying to cross the road when a speeding vehicle knocked her down. Local residents rushed her to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Police handed Shazia’s body to her family and started searching for the driver who managed to flee. A speeding vehicle crushed a bicyclist in the Shahdara Police Station precincts.
The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Karamat Ali, a resident of Shahdara Town who was going back home when an unidentified speeding van coming from behind crushed him while the van driver managed to flee. Local residents along with rescue officials rushed Karamat to the Mayo Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police handed over the body to its heirs and started searching for the driver.
Separately, Barkat Ali, who was injured a couple of days ago during a road accident in the Kot Lakhpat Police Station precincts, died at the General Hospital.
