ISLAMABAD – As was the situation in the previous year, the crime rate in capital city is increasing with each passing day this year, too, with robbers striking at 12 different places and carjackers lifting 10 vehicles from the different parts of the city in the last week.
The persistent rise in crimes in the capital city shows that police have made no effective strategy to control the worsening situation. Robbers struck at 12 places and carjackers lifters stole 10 vehicles from the areas of the police stations, mostly located in the urban areas of the federal capital, despite deployment of capital police at every corner in the town.
In the week before, seven cases of robbery and 9 incidents of car lifting were reported to the city’s different police stations. In the last week, three cases of robbery and a case of car lifting were reported to Shalimar Police Station while in the week before, one case each of car lifting and robbery occurred in its limits.
Two vehicles were stolen and one case of robbery occurred in the limits of Margalla Police Station this week while car lifters stole two vehicles and one case of mobile snatching occurred in its limits in the week before. In the last week, Subzi Mandi police registered two cases of car lifting and two of robbery while in the week before it registered two cases of robbery and two cases of car lifting.
Women police station registered four cases of robbery in the last week while in the week before it registered no significant case.
