Trains, flights fog-delayed

Lahore – Train and flight schedules were disturbed on Saturday owing to foggy conditions in the country, Pakistan Today has learnt. According to railway officials, trains coming from Karachi to Lahore were late by four to five hours whereas several flights, which were supposed to land at Islamabad or Peshawar, landed at Lahore because of bad weather yesterday. Flight of the German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle also landed at Lahore instead of Islamabad owing poor visibility at the Islamabad Airport. Other flights including the ones from Manchester to Islamabad, Abu Dhabi to Peshawar, Musqat to Islamabad, Abu Dhabi to Islamabad, Barcelona to Islamabad and Frankfurt to Islamabad also landed at the Lahore Airport instead of their desired destinations.
Met Office informed that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Foggy conditions are likely to continue in plain areas of the Punjab, upper Sindh and Peshawar division. However light rain/light snowfall is likely at few places of Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
