LAHORE – A petition has been filed against Test cricketer Shoaib Malik in the lower court, with direction to the police to register a criminal case against him for his involvement in match-fixing. In the petition, Ishtiaq Ahmed Chaudhry alleged that Malik had not only made millions of rupees through match-fixing but also damaged the country’s image. He contended that the Pakistan Cricket Board had reportedly excluded Malik from the 30 probables for the WC 2011 because of his alleged corruption and links with the match-fixing mafia.
