KARACHI – MQM chief Altaf Hussain, during his telephonic conversation on Friday with Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, who was at Nine Zero, said that the alliance between moderate and progressive political parties is important to protect the sovereignty of Pakistan. “If a conflict between these political parties continues, religious extremists will control the country,” he added. Hussain told the prime minister that the MQM wants the democratic process to continue so that the basic problems of the masses could be addressed.
