LAHORE – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will not support the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led federal government if it loses its majority in the National Assembly, PML-N Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Pervaiz Malik said on Thursday. Talking to journalists after attending slain Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer’s qul at the Governor’s House, Pervaiz said that safeguarding the national interest was the PML-N’s slogans and the party would not support the PPP in its wrongdoings.
He said that the PML-N wanted Pakistan’s prosperity and would not compromise on national interests at any cost. The MNA said that his party wanted continuity of the democratic system but the PPP was stumbling itself and shaking public confidence on the democratic system by making unpopular decisions such as price-hike, load shedding of gas and electricity and failing to combat terrorism. Pervez said that the present regime has disappointed all segments of society and failed to show its commitment for resolving difficulties being faced by the nation. He said that the PPP-led federal government has lost all public support due to its anti-poor policies.
