LAHORE – Former Olympians have announced the formation of a Pakistan Hockey Players Association. Former Olympians Rana Mujahid, Shahbaz Junior, Danish Kaleem and Akhlaq Ahmed have put forward the plan to form the association. They said that the office-bearers of the association will be elected in the first week of March.
Rana Mujahid, secretary Punjab Hockey Association, said that the purpose of forming the body is to solve the problems faced by the players. He said that the officials of the association will be named after consultations with the Pakistan Hockey Federation and with the suggestion of former Olympians attached with the federation.
He further said that they did not have anything against anyone, and if anyone wants to strengthen Pakistan hockey, he should come forward and they will take him along for the betterment of the game.
