January Jones was reluctant to sign up to play a sexy mutant in ‘X-Men: First Class’, because the film is set in the same era as her TV show ‘Mad Men’. The actress has become one of Hollywood’s hottest properties since landing her role as Betty Draper in the retro series,
which is set in the world of 1960s advertising. And Jones admits she was fearful about heading back to the past again to play telepathic Emma Frost in the comic book prequel, because the X-Men role is set in the same decade as Mad Men. She tells,
“When I heard that this installment of X-Men was going to take place in the ’60s I was like, ‘Oh my God, you must be kidding me!’. But I read the script and familiarised myself with the character of Emma Frost. She’s so, so far from Betty and from Mad Men, and it takes place in that time but it doesn’t feel like a period movie.” However, Jones admits she still has one reservation – her character’s skimpy wardrobe.
