KARACHI – The ruling PPP continued its parleys to persuade the MQM to return to the federal government on Tuesday until just before the assassination of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer.
The two-member committee of Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Interior Minister Rehman Malik held a meeting at the Chief Minister’s House.
“The committee discussed various issues in detail in light of the efforts made so far,” said an official handout issued earlier in the day.
The chief minister and interior minister condemned the murder of an MQM activist on Monday and directed the Karachi West DIG to submit an immediate report on the matter.
