The murder of Salmaan Taseer is yet another shock to the political instability of Pakistan and yet again it comes due to extremist elements. Islam at no point teaches to go around killing people at will. Islam strictly condemns backstabbing and bloodshed by betraying the one you are suppose to protect.
In case of Asia Bibi, Salmaan Taseer had a justified stance. The poor woman was not capable of fighting her case so he intervened and helped. He was the brave one unlike most of us to speak for Asia Bibi. However, it is tragic to witness him as the lone victim of blasphemy whereas we all stand on the sideline and watch.
The incident of Elite Force is an eye opener for authorities. It is imperative to have a strict security check before police force personnel are allotted to VIPs and VVIPs. The security of influential and politicians should be on the highest priority as they are vital assets of Pakistan. The need of the hour is to sensitise the police personnel in such a manner that they do not mix emotions while on duty. Pakistan faces a time of turmoil and it is important to revive our national image as a tolerant nation.
