LAHORE – The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) recovered and remained bullish with an excellent improvement in the volume. However it is feared that the assassination of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer will have major implications for the bourse The LSE index added 115.02 points to close at 3,747.41 against its opening at 3,632.39 levels. Only six three scrips went down, 65 went up and 54 closed without any change in their opening values.
The volume of the market remained 7.8 million shares, which was 2.93 million shares more than Monday’s turnover of 4.86 million shares. Lotte Pakistan PTA was the volume leader with 2.7 million share turnover and it added Rs 0.99 to close at Rs 14.37 against its opening at Rs 13.38. Fauji Fertilisers was the second volume leader with 0.83 million shares turnover and it also added Rs 1.75 to close at Rs 36.82 against its opening at Rs 35.07.
Pakistan Oil Fields was the major gainer and it added Rs 13.73 to close at Rs 307.61 against its opening at Rs 293.88. DS Industries was the major loser with a turnover of 4,000 shares, it lost Rs 0.55 to close at Rs 1.75 against its opening at Rs 2.30.
