Five students, FC man injured by Turbat bomb

QUETTA – At least five students along with personnel of Balochistan Frontier Corps (FC) got injured in a remote controlled bomb blast in Turbat, a town in Kechh district on Tuesday.
FC spokesman who requested not to be named said that an FC school bus carrying more than three dozen students was passing in front of Atta Shahad Degree College when remote controlled device planted in the roadside exploded as the vehicle passed by.
As a result, five students identified as Kamil, Zohaib, Haroon, Zeshan, Qamar and a security incharge Hameed received injuries in the blast, he said adding that the injured were rushed to the hospital where the doctors termed the condition of three of them as serious.
The local police said that soon after the incident, police and FC personnel cordoned off the area, arrested five suspects from the site, shifted the accused to their camp for investigation and later dropped them to the hospital after torturing them.
They said that 8 to 10 kilogram explosive was used in the blast, however, no group had accepted the responsibility for the blast so far.
Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi strongly condemned the bomb attack on school bus and termed it as a coward act.
He said that terrorists would never succeed in their nefarious designs by doing all this.
Meanwhile, Gwadar police arrested three people and recovered a hand grenade, a bomb and different weapons from their possession.
The police said that a police party headed by Gwadar District Police Officer (DPO) Barkat Hussain Khosa raided a house situated in Ward Mir Lal Bakhsh and arrested three people Haji Nasir Rind, Ehsanullah and Khairullah.
They added that police recovered one hand grenade, two detonators, one time bomb, one pistol and seven rounds from their possession.
The police said that Ehsanullah and Khairullah were brothers and confessed their involvement in many subversive acts.
