Lahore – Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Shahid Saeed on Monday issued notices to the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) managing director, general manager and director billing on a petition filed by a citizen who received a Rs 0.95 million gas bill for December.
Petitioner Muhammad Amjad submitted that he ran a drycleaner shop in Sherakot area and his average gas bill for the whole last year was Rs 50,000 but he received a Rs 37,000 gas bill for November, which he duly paid.
Amjad alleged that the SNGPL issued him a Rs 0.95 million gas bill for December and suspended his gas supply due to non-payment. He said that the bill issued to him was the company’s error and the department be directed to withdraw the bill and restore his gas connection without any charges. After hearing arguments, the judge issued notices to the respondents for today (Tuesday).
SNGPL just like WAPDA is now forwarding the bills to consumers without taking proper reading and on average basis
I have received my July 2011 bill from SNGPL showing just 0.13 HM3 consumed gas, while charged me Rs. 200/-. Now in the bill of August 2011 showing consumed units are 0 while the meter is runing properly and charged me again Rs.200/-.
Now in the comming bills, SNGPL will charged me for the actual reading?. There will be no one to listen me and poor people will suffer for ever.
Who will correct the system?
