ANP, MQM activists among 6 killed

KARACHI – At least six people, including two activists of Awami National Party (ANP) and two of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), were gunned down on Monday.
Two ANP activists, Muhammad Aziz (son of Sahil) and Tariq (son of Faiz Muhammad), were shot dead by two armed men riding on a motorcycle in an incident reported at Jamia Millia Road. The duo were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where they succumbed to their injuries. Al-Falah police told Pakistan Today that the two men were residents of Pathan Goth and active workers of the local ANP ward. No case had been registered as yet.
In another incident, an activist of MQM was shot dead while another sustained serious bullet wounds when two armed men riding on a motorcycle opened fire at a car near Nipa Chowrangi late Sunday night.
The men were brothers in relation, and were heading home when the incident took place. They were rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK); one of them succumbed to his injuries in the wee hours of Monday. Officials in the Aziz Bhatti police station said the men were identified as Bilal and Umair, sons of Imam Bux. An FIR no. 2/11 under section 302, 34 has been lodged against unknown persons.
In yet another incident, a joint sector incharge of MQM Gulbahar was gunned down near PSO Ground, Nazimabad. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH). Nazimabad Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Shafi said the deceased was returning home when unknown pillion riders opened fire at him. He died on the spot. No case was registered as yet.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old former MQM activist was killed by three armed persons outside his house in Korangi No. 4. His body was shifted to the JPMC post-mortem. The man was later identified as Sohail, son of Ramzan.
In yet another incident, 22-year-old Ahsanullah, son of Ameenullah, was shot dead on Monday afternoon by two armed person in a passenger bus in an incident reported in Ferozabad police limits.
The police said that the victim was travelling in a passenger bus of route S-21; two armed men boarded the bus near Bahadurabad, and sprayed him with bullets. The deceased was studying in a local Madressah, the police said, adding that suspects behind the killing had been identified.
