Security forces gun down 2 militants

PESHAWAR – Two militants were shot down in Samar Bag area of Lower Dir, security officials claimed on Sunday. Earlier, the militants attacked a police van with an Improvised Explosive Device, injuring three police officers including the station house officer, officials said.
Security forces then retaliated, killing two of the attackers and capturing an undisclosed number. The Lower Dir district is native to Sufi Mohammad, chief of the banned Tehrik Nifaz Shariah Mohammadi.
Sufi Mohammad, his two sons and close aides were shifted from Dera Ismail Khan Jail to Swat to be tried for certain cases. Sufi Mohammad is father-in-law of Fazal Ullah, chief of Tehrik Taliban Swat, who is still at large.
