LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif’s turn for becoming prime minister will come in 2023, Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer said on Sunday.
He was talking to journalists at the Lahore Polo Club. Taseer said that Nawaz should show patience and wait for his turn until 2023 and predicted that the PML-N chief would not destabilise the federal government. He defended the federal government’s decision to increase fuel prices saying that it was necessary due to increase in international oil prices.
Taseer said that he believed the federal government could not provide subsidies on petroleum products due to shortage of money. The governor rejected the impression that the PML-N was a friendly opposition and said that the federal government realised sufferings of the people and was striving hard to provide relief to the masses.
